Medical Diet FAQ

hCG stands for “human Chorionic Gonadotropin”, a natural hormone naturally occurring in both men and women. However, hCG is primarily produced in excess by the placenta during pregnancy. This metabolic function protects a woman during pregnancy by allowing her to burn excess fat storages to protect the growing fetus.
The hypothalamus gland moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and, very importantly, your metabolic rate. hCG contributes to regulating the hypothalamus.
Studies show it is suitable for both men and women, thanks to the fact that hCG contributes to regulating hypothalamus. The hypothalamus gland moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and more importantly, your metabolic rate.
The majority of men and women are potentially candidates. It is recommended that dieters consult with their medical provider concerning weight loss, along with the appropriate implementation of the hCG protocol.  The standard protocol is a minimum of 21 days in duration. hCG is effective for people who regularly diet and exercise but cannot seem to get rid of the “last few pounds” as well as for those looking to a get a jump-start on potentially losing 30-75 pounds.
hCG medical diet is not for women who are pregnant or nursing. Also, since hCG will not allow the body to burn any fat other than excess reserve fat, a very thin person would likely not continue to lose weight.
hCG naturally acts as a safety net for the body – when a pregnant woman’s caloric intake falls too low. In such case, the body senses an emergency and sends a message to the hypothalamus to pull fat from the body’s reserve fat stores (adipose tissue). These reserve fat stores provide an excellent source of energy. hCG does not take fat from structural fat (necessary fat around our vital organs, our eyes, and around muscle tissue).

In order to get the body to sense that there is an “emergency”, hCG dieters follow a very specific diet of 500 calories. Also, only certain food that does make the body stop releasing fat may be eaten. When followed properly, the body will release up to 2,500 calories into the bloodstream daily. The caloric intake deficit and release of reserve fat can make hCG lose up to 2 pounds per day. Most dieters feel full, satiated, and full of energy while on the protocol.

Our program is 3 short weeks of dieting, followed by 3 weeks of supervised stabilization, and then 3 weeks of maintenance – or as long as you need, depending on your goals. When you come in to the office the first time, you will meet with our medical staff to discuss any health issues. We will go over your medical history and any necessary labs will be drawn, and you will get your first week of vitamin injections and hCG supplies.
After the dieting phase I of the hCG program, you will begin a stabilization and maintenance program where you will gradually add complex carbohydrates, fruits, and starches back into your diet. This process will take about 6 weeks. We will evaluate your caloric needs at your new weight, and determine your recommended intake. During the maintenance phase you will keep careful track of any gains when reintroducing new foods, and if a particular food causes a gain you will remove it from your diet until it does not cause a gain. We recommend coming in and weighing in during these weeks of maintenance, and continuing the fat burner B complex/B12 injections.
Yes, but not with similar results. The body stores fat during times of deprivation, and you would most likely lose muscle and lean body mass before fat. Also, as this would cause the cellular metabolism to slow down, it would make gaining the weight back much easier in the long run. By using the hCG with the low calorie diet, extra fat is mobilized for energy and the rest is eliminated. The low calorie diet is vital in preventing the immediate refilling of empty fat cells.
Most hCG dieters report a weight loss of 1 to 2 lbs a day. At the very least, ½ pound a day, and at the most, 3 lbs a day. 1 lb is generally lost in the first day after the loading phase. Factors that guarantee faster weight loss include adding/increasing vegetable intake and mixing salad with each meal. Fiber intake is extremely important, as is water intake. Water will help flush out fat from your body as you lose weight.

The body will develop an immunity to hCG after approximately 6 weeks. So, if you have more than 40 pounds to lose, you will have to do a full series of hCG, wait 6 weeks, and then begin your next series if necessary.

Weight-loss studies have shown that weight loss following the hCG protocol comes directly from adipose fat tissue rather than lean muscle. In doing so, the weight lost comes directly from fat and does not strip the body of much needed muscle, bone, vitamins or minerals essential to maintain good health.

Weight loss has a significant impact on reducing general health risks one has as an overweight individual, which is a reason for our hCG dieters to report a feeling and appearance of great health and marvel.

No, you should not. While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is continually releasing the fat stored in your body. You are actually operating on thousands of calories a day.
During the first few days, mild hunger sometimes occurs – this will pass once hCG is in your system. You will find even very tiny servings to be completely satisfying. This is partly due to your hypothalamus adjusting your metabolic rate, but largely due to the amount of calories circulating in your system from the fat being released. It is common that hCG dieters feel as though they are stuffing themselves in order to reach that 500 calorie limit.

If you are not following the protocol perfectly, you may experience hunger. If you are following the program protocol and still having trouble with hunger, we can recommend an excellent suppressant.

On the hCG medical weight loss program you will eat two meals and two snacks per day. You will choose from a variety of foods that your whole family can enjoy: lean chicken, fish, beef, seafood selections, fruits, veggies, coffee and tea…
If you must exercise, do low key exercise only 20 minutes of brisk walking and a few push ups or sit ups is what is recommended. Exercise burns calories and therefore causes your hunger to increase. The combination of low calorie intake and exercise could cause your body to go into starvation mode, negatively impacting your stamina and commitment to the diet.
There are rarely side effects reported while using hCG for weight loss. When hCG is used for fertility reasons, the larger amount is known to cause occasional headaches, and pregnancy symptoms. However, the amount differences between the hCG medical diet protocol and hCG used for fertility purposes is significantly different in quantity. Women are, however, encouraged to use a back up contraceptive method while on the protocol, as hCG may increase fertility.

Some online retailers offer hCG at very low prices. However, many scammers are taking advantage of dieters and selling substandard product, or even worse, taking money and never shipping the product. The FDA has recently banned sales of over the counter Oral hCG (often sold online) due to its inconsistency and non-effectiveness. Our hCG comes from one of the largest compounding pharmacies in the country which operates under strict quality control guidelines. Pharmaceutical grade hCG can only be obtained with a prescription.
